These amazing photos show what Rathmines' Stella Cinema is like inside these days
ANYONE WHO GREW up in Dublin will likely remember the Stella Cinema.
The iconic cinema, located on Lower Rathmines Road, sadly closed in 2004, but as these photos show, little has changed inside since it shuttered its doors.
Cinematographer Paddy Jordan visited the old cinema as part of a forthcoming TG4 documentary, Éire na Nuachtscannán, and shot these amazing photos.
As you can see, the cinema is pretty much as it was the day it closed.
Jordan stated that there are still “tickets in the ticket machines and posters on the walls”.

Somewhat poignantly, Irish film Intermission was still in the projector from when it was last used in 2004.

And just like that, all the memories start flooding back.
